After our gorilla trek in the morning, we hiked to visit a Pygmy tribe in Bwindi. The Pygmy people welcomed us with open arms - showing us where they live (inside their mud huts), lighting a fire using two sticks and even performing a dance for us. Our private guide told us that the government of Uganda takes care of the Pygmy people by providing them with food and financial security to prevent the poaching of silverback gorillas in this area. If you also notice, some of the children and adults painted their faces white with ash as a sign of respect towards our visitors (us). The children were also amazed by my cell phone after I took videos of them dancing and played it back for them.
