Reviving Language: Libyan Berber Students Learning Ancient Tamazight | 30/03/2023

It’s a new dawn for students in the city of Zuwara, a Libyan community near the border with Tunisia. These students are here, not to learn from the regular curriculum, but to learn a language that has survived despite centuries of Arab domination and is now undergoing a revival in Libya since Muammar Gaddafi’s four-decade rule ended in a 2011 revolution.
