Workers at the State Information Technology Agency have threatened to march to the office of communications minister Mondli Gungubele as part of their efforts to intensify the nationwide strike action at SITA offices.
The workers, who belong to the Public Servants Association of South Africa which represents the majority of employees at SITA, are on day 2 of their national strike following a deadlock in salary negotiations. The State Information Technology Agency is the government IT service provider at Home Affairs, SASSA and SAPS offices amongst others.
SABC News Economics Reporter Katlego Legodi is at the SITA headquarters in Pretoria and joins us live.
