Workers at the State Information Technology Agency have threatened to march to the office of the Communications Minister as they intensify their national strike.

The members of the Public Servants Association of South Africa, which represents most employees at SITA, have served the employer with a notice for industrial action after salary negotiations deadlocked.

Government IT workers are demanding an inflation-linked 7.5% salary increase, along with non-financial benefits. The employer is offering 5%.
