South Africa's sports minister, Fikile Mbalula has informed four sporting codes that they can't bid for, or host any international competitions on South African soil. That's until they meet transformation targets. Rugby, athletics, cricket and netball administrators are currently meeting with the sports ministry to get clarity. But there is an unintended consequence to the announcement. Sports tourism is a significant foreign exchange driver. The 2010 Fifa World Cup brought over 300-thousand foreign tourists to South Africa. And they spent in excess of $260 million dollars during their stay. Angelo Coppola reports
