Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today. On 11 December 2023, we will start today's video with a big rainstorm in Belfast, on the R30 near Welkom and Ventersburg in the Free State. Watched the Sevens Rugby at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town over the weekend. We show you the beautiful lights at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. We then show the water levels at Gariep Dam in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. From there, we show the kite surfers at Bloubergstrand and show you more videos from around South Africa.
The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
Anticipate severe thunderstorms in Gauteng Province, the Highveld, and the escarpment of Mpumalanga, as well as the south-western parts of Limpopo Province, eastern parts of the North-West, and northeastern parts of the Free State Province. These storms may bring significant amounts of small hail, heavy downpours, and localised flooding in susceptible areas such as roads, low-lying regions, and bridges. Additionally, minor vehicle accidents and localised damage to informal houses are possible. The weather forecast predicts that there will be heavy rainfall in certain areas, specifically in the eastern regions of Limpopo, the Lowveld of Mpumalanga Province, and the northeastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal Province. This rainfall can cause localised flooding on vulnerable roads, low-lying areas, and bridges.
