Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today. On 5 February 2024, we will start today's video showing the heavy rain and water in the roads around Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West Province of South Africa. We also show rain in Waterval Boven. Then, the red sands at Upington and we along the Flying Saucer Interchange (R21/N1 split) in Pretoria. We also show you a leopard in the Kruger National Park and two lionesses lying on the sand road in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Then, we will take a slow drive down the Middelwater road at Meiringspoort and show you more videos from around South Africa.

The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
On February 5th, 2024, South Africa encountered a range of weather conditions. In Gauteng, the weather was partly cloudy and warm with scattered thundershowers. Mpumalanga experienced warm temperatures and partly cloudy conditions, with occasional showers and thundershowers occurring in some areas. Limpopo experienced comparable weather conditions to Mpumalanga, characterized by warm to hot temperatures. The North-West Province experienced a mix of clouds and heat, with occasional showers. The Free State experienced warm to hot weather, with partly cloudy skies and occasional isolated showers. The Northern Cape experienced morning fog along the coast, but the rest of the region enjoyed fine and warm weather. Cloudy conditions were observed at times along the coast of the Western Cape, while the interior experienced hot weather. The Eastern Cape had contrasting forecasts for its western and eastern halves, with hot conditions and a chance of isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. KwaZulu-Natal experienced warm weather with a mix of clouds and scattered showers. Severe weather alerts have been issued for parts of KwaZulu-Natal, eastern Mpumalanga, and Limpopo. The warning is for severe thunderstorms that could potentially cause minor damage and disruptions.
