South Africa to recall its diplomats from Israel over situation in Gaza and West Bank

“As previously indicated, a genocide under the watch of the international community cannot be tolerated.”

South Africa announced on Monday that it will withdraw all its diplomats from Israel to “signal its concern” over the situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

More than 10,000 Palestinians have been killed in less than a month after Israel began attacking Gaza, following a large-scale assault by Palestinian fighters on Israel on 7 October. At least 154 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank in the past three weeks.
