Utkarsh Marathi Film Festival juries David Max Brown (Producer of Noem My Skollie: Call Me Thief, official Oscar entry from South Africa), Moshidi Motshegwa (Famous & Talented South African Actress & Producer) & Keith Joshua Gengadoo (Well known South African Actor from Mr. Bones 2) talk about their experience after watching Marathi films. Juries learned a lot from Marathi films from Filmmakers perspective.

Utkarsh Marathi Film Festival was sponsored and organised by a Filmmaker Terwadkar Rajiv along with the support from Marathi Mandal South Africa team members. The festival introduced Marathi culture and films to South Africa and Film makers and audience from South Africa.

The Film Festival was arranged in 2012 in South Africa to promote Indian culture in South Africa and South African culture in India. One of the objective of the film festival was to start truly cross cultural and cross border films in South Africa.
