Standard Bank plans to launch sustainable energy fund

Standard Bank has announced that in its partnership with its insurance and asset management division, Liberty, it plans to launch a sustainable energy fund generated from its own capital. This, in a bid to garner funding from other institutions and investors to go big on investing in sustainable energy projects on the continent. The bank was updating the media on its Environmental, Social and Governance, also known as its ESG journey as it works to balance financing African economic development and playing its part in reducing the continent's carbon footprint.
