Streptocarpus ionanthus / Saintpaulia ionantha (African violets) Houseplant Care — 233 of 365

The ever popular African violet has fallen out of popularity in some households, but has not lost popularity in regards to the amount of cultivars our there. Here's a little selection of some of mine, ringing in #233 of "365 Days of Plants".

In this video I'll discuss where it is originally native to, where I'm growing it in my home, and basics like light, watering and fertilizing. But, please note, I had a brain fart moment in this video here. Thanks to Timur, one of my commenters from YouTube for pointing out that yes, African violets are native to the Tanazania region. I mentioned Trinidad and Tobago, which they were in fact introduced to but NOT native to; and I believe my green flowered one has a Trini cultivar name, but that's it. Special thanks for making mention! (And please note species is "ionanthus" not "ionantha").
