BLACK HISTORY MONTH is a time of remembrance, and to elevate voices of the global majority.
🛢 And yet in this time, leaders of the global north, which historically is responsible for fueling the climate crisis and systemic injustices that predominantly impact communities of colour, are choosing to go back on their net zero promises, have approved the catastrophic Rosebank oil field, and have decided Black History Month is the time to gather oil execs with the chair of COP28 in London just weeks before climate talks.
An insightful discussion on the intersection of climate change and social justice, and how imperialism underpins the climate crisis; exploring the impacts of colonisation on the climate crisis and colonised communities, and the prevalence of environmental racism.
