The Gambia Hosts Ecowas Court Of Justice 2023

Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu has charged African governments to ratify the 2014 Malabo Protocol, which prescribes prosecution and punishment of politicians, and soldiers who subvert constitutional rule.
The Malabo Protocol extends the jurisdiction of the African Court of Justice on Human Rights to crimes under international law as well as transnational crimes.
MR. Odinkalu who was a Guest Speaker at the 2023 International Conference of the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice challenged the Gambia government to ratify the protocol and set an example for other African countries.
