Today, we are going into the grim underbelly of Nigeria's university campuses and the terrifying spectre of a murky underworld of fraternities turned violent and murderous. They've come to be known popularly as cults, with all the deadly connotations associated with the word. In the last two decades, inter-cult violence has killed more than two hundred students and teachers, though the real number may be much higher, especially as cults have spilled from campuses onto the streets, lethally mixing with militants, politicians, thugs and crooks and fomenting unimaginable violence, particularly during elections. How did these once peaceful fraternities become such a dangerous security problem within Nigeria's university system? We'll attempt to find out...in a moment...

#QueenAminaAgbo, president of the Youth Initiative for Diversity in Nigeria, who had confrontations with a cult group whilst she was at university...And Barrister #PelumiOlajengbesi, former president of the Student Government at the University of Abuja, now principal partner in his own law firm... And Professor #SaniMuhammadAdam, who is a deputy vice chancellor at the University of Abuja...were interviewed by #CharlesAniagolu. Produced by #NissiGabriel
