On Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30pm, join in a virtual conversation with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Artistic Director Robert Battle; National Center for Civil and Human Rights Director of Exhibitions Lance Wheeler; scholar, activist and historian Dr. Clarissa Myrick-Harris; and National Director of AileyCamp Nasha Thomas for a discussion moderated by NBC News Correspondent Blayne Alexander spotlighting projects that are revealing truth, awakening transformation, and recognizing triumphs on the march to freedom at the start of Black History Month.

In the footsteps of Martin Luther King, Jr., the “March on Washington: 60 Years Later” exhibition at Atlanta’s National Center for Civil and Human Rights furthers a mission of inspiring people to tap their own power to create a world with justice and dignity for all. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s legacy of using artistry as a vehicle for change will reach across the country on a 2023 North American tour visiting Atlanta’s Fox Theatre February 16-19 with a new production of Survivors (1986), Alvin Ailey’s impassioned tribute to the profound courage of Nelson and Winnie Mandel while lifting up those who resist oppression in any form.
