No 1. Jagun Jagun by Femi Adebayo

Jagun Jagun is a 2023 movie written and produced by a Nigerian Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo. The popular Yoruba epic movie was directed by Adebayo Tijani and co Directed by Tope Adebayo.

Jagun Jagun is a movie that not only lived up to the hype, but surpassed it in every aspect. From its captivating storyline to its educative performances of each cast, the cinematic masterpiece offers viewers an incredible experience that is worth every minute, and a value for money.

No 2. Anikulapo by Kunle Afolayan

Anikulapo is a 2022 Nigerian epic fantasy film produced by Kunle Afolayan and distributed by Netflix. It stars Kunle Remi, Bimbo Ademoye, Sola Sobowale,Hakeem Kae-Kazim and other great actors. The film was shot in Oyo State and Afolayan has described the work as a Game of Thrones recreated in Nigeria but with a better representation of Nigerian Yoruba culture

The movie was produced and shot by Jonathan Kovel at the recently launched KAP resort in a village in Oyo State, it was produced and shot on a 40 acres of land with all infrastructure and buildings all built from scratch to suit the production while also intending to make it a film village.
The movie won several award for how great it was and alot of nominations.

No 3. King of Thieves by Femi Adebayo

King of Thieves (Agẹṣinkólé) is a 2022 Nigerian thriller Movie produced by Femi Adebayo and directed by Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani. It features Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Toyin Abraham, Broda Shaggi, Lateef Adedimeji, Ibrahim Chatta and many more. The Epic Yoruba movie was produced by Femi Adebayo and co-produced by the Niyi Akinmolayan.

No 4. Saworo Ide by Tunde Kelani

Saworoide was produced in 1999, it is a Nigerian political drama film, produced and directed by Tunde Kelani. It features Kola Oyewo, Bukky Wright, Lere Paimo, Larinde Akinleye, Peter Fatomilola, Kunle Bamtefa, Adebayo Faleti, Kayode Olaiya, Doyin Hassan and many more.

Saworoide depicts the setting of an old Yoruba norm in the town of Jogbo where a person can not be crowned king without a ritual which involves the playing of saworoide drum.

No 5. Ori by Muyiwa Ademola

Ori was produced in 2004 by the popular movie producer/actor, Muyiwa Ademola. He has doubled as the movie director. The movie was so fantastic that the movie gave him his now popular alias, Authetic. The movie featured Fathia Balogun, Lere Paimo, Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun, Jide Kosoko, Lanre Hassan and many others.

No 6. Oleku by Tunde Kelani

O Le Ku was produced in 1997, It is a Nigerian romantic drama film produced and directed by Tunde Kelani. It is an adaptation from Prof. Akinwunmi Ishola's novel of the same title.

O Le Ku was said to have sparked the short aso oke Iro and Buba fashion trend also called Oleku style.

It was listed as one of the ten iconic Nollywood stories from the 90s.

It has been said to be the best example of Yoruba language film in Nollywood regarding how the actors and actresses articulate their point of views in undiluted Yoruba language.
It has been adopted to teach foreign Yoruba Language learners in institutions in the United States and Europe due to the standard of Yoruba Language spoken in the movie.

No 7. Ija Omode - by Sunday Soyinka
IJA OMODE is a classic Yoruba movie produced some two decades ago.
Ija Omode is a movie marketed and distributed by Korede Films International.

The movie features Kola Oyewo, Taiwo Hassan, Late Yomi Ogunmola and Late Funmi Martins, Ebun Oloyede, Ronke Ojo, Ayo Mogaji, Peter Fatomilola, Antar Laniyan, Samuel Olaseinde and others.

Ija Omode was Produced by Sunday Soyinka and directed by the Late Yomi Ogunmola.
