This groove demonstrates a classic Mozambique ostinato played with the right hand on the ride cymbal (or cowbell).

Time is kept on the hi hat, and I also keep time with my bass drum too, to flesh out the sound of the beat. Make sure the first two snare notes are nice and ghosted; we want the accents to come through strong and dominant.

It's quite a tricky groove to really get it flowing - especially catching that last bass drum note on the '+' of '4' - but take it slowly as always and work up to a comfortable tempo.
