UNESCO Conference | Acting to Promote the Development of the African Film Industry | EN
On the occasion of the 75th edition of the Festival de Cannes, UNESCO invites a conference to present its "The Film Industry in Africa: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities for Growth" report. The conference will kick off with a brief presentation of the main conclusions and key recommendations of the report, which will be followed by a top-level panel with the participation of UNESCO partners who support the development of African cinema, including NETFLIX, Martin Scorsese's Film Foundation, the SENTOO - a project bringing together the National Film Centers of 7 African countries, and others. The conference will be launched with a welcome speech delivered by Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO - followed by the presentation of the conclusions of the UNESCO report presented by Mr. Toussaint Tiendrebeogo, Chief of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions Entity, UNESCO. The event will conclude with a cocktail reception - aiming to foster networking amongst industry professionals.
