UNSEEN EGYPT: Cairo's Animal Market in The City of The Dead | سوق الجمعة في القاهره

Under the Muqattam Hills in Cairo lies the City of the Dead; 2.5 square miles of Islamic-era cemeteries, where the cities poorest have built their humble homes, living amongst the tombs. In a section of this neighborhood called Sayed Aisha you will find the Friday Market, also known as the Animal Market. You will find everything from turtles to cats and dogs, from fish to falcons to parrots and monkeys. Come along with me as I visit this chaotic and crowded market to witness yet another side of life in Cairo.
