US gives Zambia advanced helicopters

The US Government has given Zambia four new High performance helicopters and three year training of staff worth about K1.5-billion.
United States Africa Command -AFRICOM- Commander General MICHAEL LANGLEY says the helicopters will enable Zambia continue to support UN peace keeping missions on the continent and are in line with its commitment of maintaining peace in Africa.
Speaking at a media briefing, General LANGLEY said the helicopters will also help Zambia in responding to future disasters, assist in effects of climate change and provide assistance to neighbours.
