The Voice of the Cross were the pioneer of contemporary gospel music in Nigeria. The duo of Brother Lazarus and Brother Emmanuel met in a church in Aba in the South East of Nigeria in the early 70s. The duo started singing together once they discovered that they were musically compatible.
They went on to record and release several albums and songs that are daily on the lips of most Christians in their prayers and devotions. The Voice of the Cross are responsible for songs like Good Morning Jesus, Why Worry and Are You Ready which have been a source of ministration and spiritual upliftment for many Christians across the world
