In South Africa, voting stations are set to open this weekend, providing an opportunity for thousands of prospective voters to register ahead of the 2024 general elections. The Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced that 23,296 polling stations will be available for eligible citizens during this registration exercise.

Registration stations are scheduled to operate from 8 am to 5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, the Home Affairs Department has affirmed its readiness to assist eligible voters who may need to collect Identity Documents over the weekend at 321 of its offices. This initiative aims to facilitate a smooth and accessible voter registration process for all eligible citizens in preparation for the upcoming elections.
