Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Equatorial Guinea, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, and Togo make up the western African part of the Africa continent. These are the members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Mauritania is part of the 16 West African countries. However, Mauritania is not a member of ECOWAS.
