Wild Life Sightings in Madikwe Game Reserve South Africa

Madikwe Game Reserve is a malaria free, big-5 conservation area in South Africa that is situated against the border of Botswana.
Unlike other cats cheetah do not have retractable claws. Their claws work like running spikes that are used to increase traction while chasing prey.
Approximately 1200 elephants call Madikwe home.
They roam around in family groups called herds.
Lone elephants are usually males. They briefly interact with herds for breeding purposes before continuing with their nomadic journey.
Elephant skeletons can remain visible for about 10 years.
Over 350 different species of birds have been recorded at Madikwe Game Reserve.
Wild dogs were successfully introduced in 1994. Packs are still thriving today.
