Zambia's Mining Minister Christopher Yaluma says his country will add 1,500 megawatts to its power grid by 2020 in a bid to ease power shortages that have hobbled the copper-producer's economy.
This comes at a time when demand continues to drop for African resources as the Chinese economy slows. In countries like Zambia copper prices have weakened by more than 20 per cent over the past year. Our Reporter Liabo Setho caught up with Yaluma at the Africa Mining Indaba in Cape Town. She asked him if he sees a recovery happening soon.
