Zambia -Rwanda sign deals on aviation, defence and extradition
On his two-day visit to Zambia, Rwandan President Paul Kagame and his counterpart Edgar Lungu have signed three deals. They focus on aviation, defence and extradition in an effort to strengthen relations between the two nations. Trade between Zambia and Rwanda has been increasing in recent years. Imports from Zambia to Rwanda grew from 2.8 million dollars in 2015 to 11.6 million dollars last year. Zambia, one of the world's top copper producers, is among the top exporting countries to Rwanda -- accounting for almost 3% of total imports in 2016. Rwanda's national carrier flies to Zambia seven times a week -- an indicator of the depth of bilateral relations
