Au Sénégal, la lutte est le sport de la tradition,Le lutteur est un athlète mais aussi un sage et le secret de sa victoire se trouve dans la pratique mais aussi et surtout dans sa préparation spirituelle.
André, un camionneur lutteur, sauve le jeune Nalla de l'assaut d'un groupe de voyous,Entre les deux naît une profonde amitié et Nalla commence à fréquenter le milieu des lutteurs contre la volonté de ses parents qui considèrent la lutte comme un sport violent et peu adapté à un jeune de bonne famille.
Pendant ce temps, toute la ville est en effervescence pour le grand défi entre les deux champions Malew et Tonnère.

Marché Kermel (https://goo.gl/maps/gtEk5eb6dRnjt8fJ7) - We started this tour today in the heart of central Dakar at one of the old markets known as Marché Kermel. It’s a small and manageable market to get a feeling for the ingredients that go into Senegalese food. At lunchtime just outside the market you’ll find a series of street food stalls that set up serving home cooked Senegalese food. You’ll find dishes like Thieboudienne (jollof rice), okra stew, sweet potato leave, mutton curry, and much more. The food is sensational, so much delicious flavors and huge plates of food. I love the “guana” local chili peppers that taste similar to scotch bonnet chilies.

African Renaissance Monument - We then toured the African Renaissance Monument, one of the icons of Senegal and Africa, to symbolize the rebuilding of Africa after colonization, and to never forget the past slavery trade.

La Maree Chez Adji (https://goo.gl/maps/ryFnWbyFaHmx5kgd9) - Next up on this ultimate street food tour in Senegal we went to the very Western tip of Africa and restaurant called La Maree Chez Adji to eat fresh lobster and sea urchins.

Dibiterie Le Mboté 1 (https://goo.gl/maps/8JGNYQfV5vwZBRoDA) - Finally to finish this day we couldn’t miss a dibiterie, Senegal’s take on grilled lamb. This is something truly spectacular, some of the world’s best grilled lamb. It’s fresh and cooked over a raging fire and served with mustard, hot sauce, and onions. Wow, absolutely stunning!

Thousands of people, mainly young men, have attempted the hazardous 1,500km (930-mile) boat journey from West Africa to the Canary Islands.

The United Nations-affiliated International Organization for Migration calls them "irregular migrants" and records the numbers who fail to complete the journey. In 2022, 543 people drowned in 45 boat accidents, the IOM said.

In this film, we go to Senegal to meet some of the women who are left behind to pick up the pieces after their husbands, brothers and sons are declared missing, assumed dead, during one of these "desperate journeys".

Wives and mothers talk about their emotional loss – as well as the threat to their livelihoods without a family breadwinner.

16-year old Aly has been propositioned for sex since he was a young boy. He's been tempted by the offers - in return for sex he could perhaps get passage to the West, live his dream of being a rap star and get a record deal. It sounds easy. But the psychologist who runs a centre for abused street kids knows different. "Those kids feel shame about their bodies. They have a feeling of aggressiveness towards adults. It's a threat to society." Senegalese law is not on his side though. On paper paedophiles can be imprisoned for 10 years yet they rarely receive such harsh treatment. Last year a Canadian paedophile admitted guilt to the Senegalese police. He was fined $3000. Locals don't want to talk about the lively influx of sex tourists. They don't want their beautiful heritage-town to get a reputation. Nor do they want to put off tourists of any kind. It's a sad indictment of poverty that anyone with money can get exactly what they want. A paedophile victim understands how the bribes work. "He said if I told he'd get into trouble and the money transfers back home would be stopped." Some Europeans and a South African have been living in Goree for years. Everyone knows that they are paedophiles. But nobody says anything. Silence means more tourism - but for the children it means a destroyed life.
