Correction: The titanoboa weighed 1.13 tons.

DESCRIPTION:

Its scientific name is Titanoboa Cerrejonensis, because it was discovered in the Cerrejón coal mines, located in the State of La Guajira, in Colombia. In this place, the geologist Henry Garcia found a strange fossil in 1994. He labeled it a "petrified branch" and stored it in a counter in the mine's facilities.

The discovery was not free of challenges. To know what the titanoboa was feeding on and what its true size was, the head was needed. Until then, mining activity had helped the discovery of new species. While more layers of land miners extracted, more species were found and they seemed to be increasingly older. The problem was that this time the miners had announced that they were going to start digging in lower strata and that all the land from the time of the titanoboa would be removed, losing any trace of it. The paleontologists had to hurry.

Relive the historic clash between Ghana and Brazil in the thrilling U-20 World Cup final held on 16 October 2009! 🌟 Despite facing tough odds and playing with only 10 men for most of the match, Ghana emerged victorious, securing a dramatic win on penalties, 0–0 (4–3). 🎉

In a battle of football giants, it was Ghana's third appearance in the U-20 final, having previously been runners-up to Brazil in 1993 and Argentina in 2001. Brazil, with six previous final appearances and four titles, was determined to add another trophy to their collection.

The Black Satellites were led by the impressive striker, Dominic Adiyiah, who scored an outstanding eight goals throughout the tournament, including a crucial extra-time winner against South Africa in the round of 16, and braces in Ghana's 3–2 victories over South Korea and Hungary in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. Brazil, on the other hand, needed late heroics from winger Maicon to overcome Germany in the quarterfinals.

The final match at Cairo International Stadium witnessed a tense and physical first half, with both teams receiving cautions. Ghana's Daniel Addo received a red card in the 37th minute for a challenge on Brazil's Alex Teixeira, leaving the Black Satellites with ten players. However, Brazil failed to capitalize on their numerical advantage, resulting in a goalless 120 minutes of play.

The match was eventually decided in a nail-biting penalty shootout. Brazil took an early lead, but Maicon's crucial miss allowed Adiyiah to equalize for Ghana. With Ghana's goalkeeper Daniel Adjei making a brilliant save, Brazil's hopes were dashed. The final shot was taken by Ghana's Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, who displayed nerves of steel as he calmly slotted the ball into the lower right corner, securing Ghana's historic victory! 🏆🔥

Michael Jackson's short film for "Thriller" was the third of three short films produced for recordings from Thriller, which continues its reign as the biggest selling album of all time with worldwide sales in excess of 105 million as of June 1, 2016 and in December 2015 became the first ever album to be awarded triple diamond status (i.e.: sales in excess of 30 million) by the RIAA for US sales alone. The "Thriller" single reached No. 1 in four countries in 1984, topping the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart as well as charts in Spain, France and Belgium. The song peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Thriller the first album to feature seven Top 10 singles. The Recording Industry Association of America certified "Thriller" Gold and Platinum on December 4, 1989.

The groundbreaking short films for the Thriller album, starting with "Billie Jean," following up with "Beat It" and culminating with the epic, nearly 14-minute "Thriller," truly expanded the possibilities of "music video" as art form. "I wanted something that would glue you to the set, something you'd want to watch over and over," Michael wrote in his 1988 memoir Moonwalk. "I wanted to be a pioneer in this relatively new medium and make the best short music movies we could make."

In the short film's extended prologue, Michael's moonlit date with his girlfriend (played by model Ola Ray) is interrupted by his sudden transformation into a howling werewolf. While the "real" Michael and Ola, observing the scene in a movie theater, walk home from the their date, Michael teases her by singing the verses of "Thriller."
