The coming 2023 general elections in Nigeria could arguably go down as the most exciting since Nigeria’s 1999 fourth democratic journey and Nigerian youths can significantly impact the outcome of the 2023 elections if they are intentional about what the future means to them.

"Things are hard in Nigeria ", this is a common phrase in Nigeria... with consistent use by most Nigerians that may include yourself but recent figures from financial and other institutions show that Nigerians are spending more than ever before especially through electronic transactions with some growth recorded in the economy including through diaspora remittances. Latest figures from the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System shows a surge in electronic transactions this year. It shows that deals worth 204.5 trillion naira were performed electronically in Nigeria between January and July this year through the NIBSS Instant Payment platform. This reflects a 40% increase in e-payments made through various channels via internet banking, bank branch, Kiosks, mobile apps, Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), POS and ATM when compared with N145.8 trillion recorded in the same period last year.. Well, to help us unbundle these developments, Olufemi Adeagbo, a development and ICT expert and Managing Director of Comnavig ICT. Spoke on the program.

Rivers State has been embroiled in political turmoil for several months, marked by impeachment threats, court cases, and the controversial demolition of the State Assembly complex. Recent truce talks between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Nyesom Wike, mediated by President Bola Tinubu, offered a glimmer of hope. Stakeholders signed a set of resolutions or directives presented by the President, with questions arising about Governor Fubara's alleged refusal to sign.

On this programme, one of the defected lawmakers insisted that Governor Fubara sign the document. The authenticity of the governor's signature was confirmed by Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Joe Johnson, who emphasized the governor's commitment to implementing the peace agreement.

However, former Commissioner for Water Resources in Rivers State, David Briggs, has raised allegations that President Tinubu coerced Governor Fubara into signing the agreement. Briggs, one of the elder statesmen present at the meeting, has introduced a new layer of controversy to the unfolding events in Rivers State.

The Senate of Tai Solarin University of Education Ijagun, Ogun State has shut the Institution and directed all Students to vacate the University's premises immediately .

Parents are also advised to contact their wards and ensure they return home forthwith.

The announcement was made through a press relese issued by the university's Public Relations Officer, after a day long demonstration by the students.

The students protested against what they called illegal arrest of some of them, including the President of the Students Union by men of the Nigerian Army from Ilese Barracks.

During the demonstration, the students blocked the Sagamu-Benin Ore Expressway.
