While the eyes of the world are on the deadly conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.
There's another conflict that has been going on for years unnoticed in Africa.
The civil war in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions have claimed the lives of over 6,000 since it flared up seven years ago.

Earlier this year Amnesty International urged Cameroonian authorities to end the violence and thoroughly investigate the killings, acts of torture and other atrocities committed in the region.

However, the Cameroonian government has denied wrongdoing.

South African-based Cameroonian Journalist Hansel Ngala says Journalists from Anglophone regions are also not safe in his home country as they are being targeted.

Disturbing images taken after violence rocked the small town of Menka, in Cameroon's restive north-west region, where separatists from the English-speaking minority are fighting for greater autonomy.

The identity of those killed was not immediately clear, with the army describing them as "terrorists" and villagers saying they were criminals.

Several of the so-called terrorists were neutralized after a confrontation with the army which had surrounded a hotel they had apparently transformed into…

At least 15 people have been killed in a new bout of fighting between Cameroon army troops and separatist rebels, the two sides said on Tuesday, in a rise in violence since President Paul Biya won a seventh term in power in October.

The conflict between Anglophone separatists, who want to create an independent state called Ambazonia, and government forces has killed more than 400 people in western Cameroon since last year and has emerged as Biya’s greatest security problem in nearly four decade…

The American Republican congresswoman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, has issued a distinctly undiplomatic riposte to British foreign secretary Lord Cameron.

Her fiery reaction came after the Conservative peer compared her party to Nazi appeasers in a row over US funding for Ukraine.

"David Cameron can kiss my a**," she told Sky News as we spoke to her in Washington.

Lord Cameron has warned the US Congress not to repeat the mistakes of the 1930s by blocking a multi-billion pound aid package for Ukraine.

The Foreign Secretary said the West must not “show the weakness displayed against Hitler”, in an unusually blunt intervention into American politics.

In an article for The Hill, an influential Washington newspaper read by Capitol Hill policymakers and insiders, he said approving the support for Kyiv was “a matter of global security”.

In the two English-speaking regions of southern Cameroon, the country's regular army has been fighting secessionist armed groups in an asymmetric war for the past three years. In October 2017, English-speaking separatists declared a breakaway state known as "Ambazonia". The armed insurgency has turned into a guerrilla war, killing thousands of people, displacing nearly 700,000 more and leaving millions of civilians trapped. FRANCE 24 brings you a rare glimpse of one of Africa's forgotten humanitarian tragedies.

Life in Cameroon's two English-speaking provinces has been brought to a standstill by three years of conflict, which has cost about 3 000 lives and forced 500 000 from their homes. The dispute had been simmering for decades but boiled over in 2016 when teachers and lawyers started to protest against the use of French in schools and courts. The government in the majority French-speaking country responded with lethal force, provoking rebels to declare independence for the region they call "Ambazonia", which in turn led to an even stronger military crackdown. In an attempt to end the crisis, President Paul Biya called for talks, dubbed the National Dialogue.
Joining me in studio to tell us more about the political crisis and the dialogue process is vice president of Ambazonia, Dabney Yerima.
