A Toyota Master Diagnostic Techncian discusses Why do Toyota engines consume oil or burn it. And ways you can prevent it from happening to your Toyota

In this video I go over a very hot topic, Toyota engines burning oil? Not only the 2AZ-FE engine that was part of a customer support program and was fixed because of a problem. But the newer engines are also using oil like the 2.5L 2AR-FE , 2.7 1AR-FE and the 2ZR-FXE 1.8 engine in the toyota prius.

I will go over what is causing all this mess and you guessed it. Low tention piston rings. This is a change that took place in modern engines that makes them very tempermantal to oil maintenace.

The No.1 cause of oil burning problems in modern engines not just with Toyota but with everyone is low tension piston rings sticking or seizing because of bad maintenance habits.

Toyota's 10,000 mile oil change or 1 year is great to reduce the costs of ownership. However you must adhere to the strict guidelines for this oil change. There are many condtions which would change your car to Special operating conditinos which would then call for a 5,000 mile oil change or 6 months whichever comes first.

I wish all my viewers and everyone who watches this video to know about this and understand that going into the grey area of special operating conditions is not worth it. Toyota overall maintenance costs are very low even with the 5,000 mile or 6 month oil changes. Why push your engine to the edge or keep wondering if you operated your car in special conditions, Just do your oil change every 5000 mile or 6 month and wonder no more.

How to Sound Deaden Your Car. Results Before and After. In this video I'm going to show you how to sound deaden your car or truck. I will be using a three layer approach. The first layer of sound deadening is an 80ml butyl rubber from Noico. The second layer of sound deadener is a 150ml closed cell foam from Noico. The third and final layer will be a mass loaded vinyl sound proofing.

After each layer of sound deadening is installed I will be taking DB reading to compare each layer and see which layer made the most difference in the sound levels. Finally we will compare the noise levels stock and after adding all of the sound deadening products.

No matter how easy modern headlight replacement kits make installation, there are a few critical skills every do-it-yourselfer needs to know — such as how to aim headlights. Once your retrofit is complete, you'll almost always find that the beam pattern needs to be adjusted. Whether you’re wondering what’s the proper headlight adjustment height for your truck or what’s the optimal car headlight beam pattern, a little knowledge can go a long way.

Getting Started

There are a few simple tools you’ll typically require to complete a DIY headlight alignment. Before we start our tutorial on how to adjust projector headlights, make sure you have some masking tape, a tape measure, and a screwdriver or socket wrench handy.

Aiming Height

Adjusting headlight height to the optimal level is the first step to improving visibility, beam quality, and on-road safety. Parked 25 feet away from a wall, the upper cutoff line of the headlight beam should be just underneath the side view mirrors of an average passenger vehicle. This will ensure maximum distance lighting without being too high, thus risking glaring oncoming traffic.

Setting Side to Side

The second most critical action in learning how to adjust projector headlights is making sure both sides are properly aimed and balanced. Squarely park 25 feet away from a wall with a clean visible surface. Measure the distance between the two projectors on the front of your vehicle, and ensure that the distance between the steps in the beam pattern on the wall matches that. The center point between the beam's steps should match the center point between the projectors. This will ensure maximum width, without compromising any intensity in the center. It will also give you more distance on your side of the road while cutting the light on the side of oncoming traffic (due to the rising shape of the beam).

A year ago, Dispatches told the story of how children in Africa's Niger Delta were being denounced by Christian pastors as witches and wizards, and then killed, tortured or abandoned by their own families.
