Hi, I'm glad you found me.

I am based in Barcelona and travel from time to time. I will upload more videos from various places and countries. Tunisia is one of my two home countries along with Germany, and I love the nature and people here. That's why I decided to record my first mix for YouTube in beautiful Tunisia.

I recorded the mix on a rooftop at 6 in the morning with the sunrise.

Zin Ezin is a Tunisian traditional song. Written and first performed by legendary national singer, composer and oud player Hedi Jouini (1909 - 1990), it is one of Tunisia's best loved melodies. We decided to give it a new twist, with jazz, latino and gypsy flavors.

Jouini's career spanned nearly six decades and led him to become one of the most popular musicians in the Arab world. He left more than 1070 songs and 56 operettas. Twice decorated by President Bourguiba for his contribution to the rise of Tunisian music and his enrichment of the national cultural heritage, he is one of the few singers-composers who received the highest distinction of the Academy of Music of the Arab world. Even today, his flamenco-inspired songs continue to flourish in Tunisia and the countries of the Orient.

Zin Ezin est une chanson tunisienne traditionnelle écrite par Hédi Jouini. Véritable héritage culturel, elle reste l'une des mélodies préférées des tunisiens et l'une des plus belles chansons d'amour du pays.

De son vrai nom Mohamed Hédi Ben Abdessalem Ben Ahmed Ben Hassine, Hédi Jouini est un joueur de oud et chanteur tunisien né en 1909 à Tunis et décédé en 1990. Durant sa longue carrière, il a composé plus de 1000 chansons, souvent inspirées du flamenco, qui ont connu le succès dans tout le moyen-orient et continuent d'animer les soirées tunisiennes. Directeur artistique de l’orchestre national de la radio tunisienne entre 1957 et 1987, il se fait également connaître comme artiste hors du monde arabe au cours de longs et réguliers séjours à Paris. Il aborde tous les genres populaires de l'époque (chansons légères, mouachahats, adwars, folklore tunisien, opérettes, musiques de film, chants nationaux et takasims oud). Il joue et chante avec La Rachidia, avec la troupe Arruqi à Bab Souika, et fait partie des artistes de Taht Essour, café autour duquel se tient toute une école de poètes, de paroliers et de chansonniers.
