Jazz In Morocco - Mizane -

Jazz in Morocco is an event produced by Pulsify Records, a company located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Our first edition was held in Casablanca, between the 9th and 19th of September 2021. It is one of a series of Latin Jazz sessions that will be filmed annually.

One of our main goals is to film and broadcast an hour-long documentary that shows the lifestyle of the Moroccan musician while working with his newly formed band called Mizane.

"Mizane" will tell the story of a 10-day trip, including rehearsals and daily residency activities from photo shoots, interviews, and a live musical performance to close the event.

11 well-known young Moroccan artists, players of various musical instruments and singers, who all known by their competence, experience and encyclopedic musical culture, participated in this project.

The theme of this year's edition is Jazz in Latin America and its similarities with Moroccan music as well as the Maghreb culture. These artists had the opportunity to take up 4 original compositions, written in the local dialect called "Darija", one of the many forms of Arabic spoken in North African countries.

Also, 3 famous Latin American songs were arranged, played and sung with Moroccan musical flavors.

Our goals are simple and precise:
Shedding light on Moroccan music, including its diversity and richness, as well as highlighting local artistic talents at the international level.

Developing the style of writing in "Darija" in different of music genres and highlighting its aesthetics along with other languages such as English, Spanish and French.

Representing the local culture, Moroccan identity, cultural and historical diversity through music, decoration, clothing, etc., these are the event's main components to represent the local artistic product.

Morocco, officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is the westernmost country in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west, and has land borders with Algeria to the east, and the disputed territory of Western Sahara to the south. Morocco also claims the Spanish exclaves of Ceuta, Melilla and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera, and several small Spanish-controlled islands off its coast. It spans an area of 446,300 km2 (172,300 sq mi) or 710,850 km2 (274,460 sq mi),[b] with a population of roughly 37 million. Its official and predominant religion is Islam, and the official languages are Arabic and Berber; the Moroccan dialect of Arabic and French are also widely spoken. Moroccan identity and culture is a vibrant mix of Berber, Arab, and European cultures. Its capital is Rabat, while its largest city is Casablanca.

This was my favorite act of the festival: Maleem Mahmoud Guinea, Afoxe Loni and Stephane Belmondo. AMAZING African song and dance...This particular stage is on a peninsula, so that;s the sea both behind and in front of the stage, and a view of the citadel can be seen as well. The gentleman in red who dances briefly at the end has on a fez (one of those traditional African hats with a tassle) and the entire band keeps those swinging as they play their instruments- though you cant really make it out in the video. Its almost hypnotic!

► MORE: https://primeloops.com/labels/rast-sound.html

Sounds of Morocco is the first ensemble library (including vocals) from Morocco ever produced.

With co-producer Anello Capuano, we designed the library to offer full usability of recorded sounds as multisample instruments, cross mixable stems/patterns, phrase composer tools and stylised sounds for Kontakt & WAV. The library also lets you create urgent build ups of authentic ensemble flows with little effort, as the 134 kit stems you will find as part of it belong to 9 ensemble kits, each with 2 variations.

With this usability, you can thoroughly compose tracks from start to end, use a single instrument in addition to your music or find rare, eclectic sound inspiration to add on top of your beats. We designed the library considering film and game composers as well as modern day producers, world music enthusiasts and sound collectors.

Kontakt Instruments

As we are constantly seeking playability of non-western elements, we designed the library for providing you the ability to compose in 3 levels deep through multisample instruments, phrase composer tools and cross mix stem/patternplayers. Start composing with multisample instruments, add playable phrase bits through composer tools and even cross mix them with pattern players (full version 5.6.5 required minimum).

Why Sounds of Morocco is unique?

– First ever ensemble library (including vocals) from Morocco with hundreds of phrases, multisample instruments and composer toolkits.
– Our first real ensemble library (multiple players & vocals) having at least as much variety as Rare Instruments Bundle.
