"Welcome To Morocco" Lyrics:

Welcome to Morocco, let's go
Oh, RedOne, let's go

Our door is always open and countries are welcome
Morocco today is a known address everywhere
We are going to live a moment that every tongue sings
And we want joy that appears painted in colors

Hand in hand we are able to build
A new world and we reach far
Today, many things bring us together
Forever

No matter wehere you're from
We gonna get it on
Right in the heart of Africa, ah-ah
No matter wehere you're from
We gonna get it on
Yeah, to the sound of Africa, ah-ah

Welcome to Morocco
Welcome to Morocco
Everybody, everybody
To Morocco
Welcome to Morocco
Everybody, everybody

Let's make a picture of Zwina and history for generations
Land of desert and mountains, we don't know the muddy
Under the stars of the night, dreams are shared
And Noiru to the world, Morocco, the land of peace

Hand in hand we are able to build
A new world and we reach far
Today, many things bring us together
Forever

No matter wehere you're from
We gonna get it on
Right in the heart of Africa, ah-ah
No matter wehere you're from
We gonna get it on
Yeah, to the sound of Africa, ah-ah

Welcome to Morocco
Welcome to Morocco
Everybody, everybody
To Morocco
Welcome to Morocco
Everybody, everybody

Now I'm so fresh
Head so high, 'cause we're all so blessed
'Cause we are up next
From the hills of north west
Africa on my chest
And we going massive
Heart full of love and passion
Mind full of focus action
54 nations tapped

No matter wehere you're from
We gonna get it on
Right in the heart of Africa, ah-ah
No matter wehere you're from
We gonna get it on
Yeah, to the sound of Africa, ah-ah

Welcome to Morocco
Welcome to Morocco
Everybody, everybody
To Morocco
Welcome to Morocco
Everybody, everybody

Real Talk:
Despite our attempt at keeping our Morocco Travel Documentary as authentic as possible, you are still watching a highlight reel. When editing, we naturally tend to choose the most exciting videos. What you don’t see are the hours spent driving through less spectacular landscapes or some of the unpleasant challenges we faced.

Did we like everything about Morocco?
Far from it. As mentioned in the video, the huge amount of trash definitely dampened our experience. Additionally, we were surprised by the sheer number of begging children. During our trip, we counted a minimum of 500 children asking us for money or sweets. While Morocco undoubtedly has to combat poverty, this behavior often seemed less dictated by need and more by opportunity. Stopping and giving is an individual choice, of course, but when we didn’t we were regularly flipped off, kicked after, or hurled insults at.
In general, though, we perceived most Moroccans as extremely friendly and helpful. The best example is the three local men who selflessly helped us to change our ruptured tire. We cannot thank them enough.

Full Disclosure:
This trip was entirely self-funded. However, we did enjoy a two-night complimentary stay at La Sultana Oualidia and a two-night complimentary stay at La Sultana Marrakech.

We sit down with Fatima Zahra Farihi of @shentilife to talk about her life in China, learning the guitar, starting a female band and following your dreams. African music is popular in China. Fatima Zahra played Moroccan music for people in China and they loved it! Check out this Moroccan musicians projects below!

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗙𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗔

Fatima Louna is the co-founder of SHENTI. She was born in Morocco. Her family transmitted her the passion for music when she was a little girl and she begun to play the guitar and to sing at the age of 14. As a teenager, she created a music club and learned rapidly about the synergy between musicians and about the language of music.

In 2012, she left Morocco and went to study in China, where she spent 5 years performing in
different places in Asia with her two other Moroccan bandmates. The Moroccan trio women called “ThunderSouls”, dazzled people with its fusional formation, playing as one, exploring their African/ Amazigh / Arab roots. In 2017, each one of them had to follow her own path.

Going with the flow, wherever life brings her, she channels her art from up there through her heart. Fatima Louna is a music channeller and her signature is a deep and flowing inspiration, going down to the public, as a river flows through the forest.

Gnawa music is a rich Moroccan repertoire of ancient African Islamic spiritual religious songs and rhythms. Its well-preserved heritage combines ritual poetry with traditional music and dancing. The music is performed at lila, entire communal nights of celebration dedicated to prayer and healing guided by the Gnawa maalem, or master musician, and their group of musicians and dancers. Though many of the influences that formed this music can be traced to sub-Saharan West-Africa, its traditional practice is concentrated in Morocco.
