In August 2015, Siebe Vanhee and Sean Villanueva took off on an adventure in the Tsaranoro massif, in the south of the African island Madagascar. They spotted a major unclimbed line on Tsaranoro Atsimo.

Armed with a drill, skyhooks and thirst for exploration we tackled the face ground up. This was very different to other first ascents they had done, as they usually do not bring a power drill, and very rarely place a bolt. But these walls are so blank and deprived of cracks and other features to place natural protections. Going ground up into this unknown vertical ocean of granite was very exciting and gave them quite the challenge. This video shows their adventure.

In this video (#SHORTS), Dr. Laby describes the "bloody eye" that Thibaut Courtois suffered - explaining what it is (a subconjunctival hemorrhage) and its effect on vision as well as expected course and recovery as well as a treatment option. Did this hemorrhage have a lasting effect on Courtois' performance?

Subconjunctival hemorrhages are fairly common and can occur out of the blue as well as following trauma, coughing, or eye rubbing. It is caused by a small blood vessel that breaks under the clear outer layer of the eye, called the conjunctiva, trapping blood between that layer and the next layer below, the sclera. Although it often looks very nasty, fortunately, it doesn't usually cause any harm to the eye or to vision. The hemorrhage usually resolves on its own and doe snot require any treatment, although some use artificial tears for relief of symptoms associated with the raised conjunctiva from the underlying blood.

Courtois suffered a subconjunctival hemorrhage in 2016, which fortunately fully resolved allowing him to return to form and to continue to perform exceptionally.

Les footballeurs féminines de longue durée « Dames Makis 7s ou Ladies Maki Seven» sont rentrées chez elles dans la nuit du 3 mai mardi mai qui ont apporté la gloire nationale lors du Seven féminin africain 2022, qui s'est tenu en Tunisie les 29 et 30 avril la ou y était.

7è manche Championnat MX 2022

Comme on aurait pu s’y attendre après l’annonce de la venue de Ranty ERNEST #777 pour le Grand Prix IMC dimanche dernier, le spectacle a été grandiose.
Les conditions de courses ont été optimale lors de l’ouverture des essaies. Les pluies abondantes des derniers jours, la préparation du terrain par le staff et le public venu en nombre pour l’occasion. Il faut reconnaitre que l’affiche était alléchante.

En catégorie Elite sur la grille de départ et au coude à coude, Claudio TIDA sur FC 450, Marco PREVE sur FC 350, Mathias PLANTIVE, Randy RAKOTOARIMANANA, Aaron RAKOTOARIMANANA, Cédric TIANIAINA, et…. Et Ranty ERNEST sur FC 250. Tous des habitués des podiums, tous des pilotes primés prêts à se battre. Et le combat était beau. Dès le départ de la première manche, Claudio prend la tête avec dans sa roue Mathias et Ranty. Et malgré l’énorme différence de performance de sa petite 250, Ranty, face aux deux 450, parvient par la technique et des trajectoires irréprochables à remonter progressivement jusqu’aller chatouiller Claudio vers la fin de la manche. La tension monte, le publique s’enflamme de plus en plus, Ranty passe en tête en force, mais profitant aussi d’un problème à la mousse arrière de Claudio, qui ne pourras pas se battre comme il aurait souhaité – lui ainsi que le public – jusqu’au drapeau à damier. Si cette manche n’avait pas été assez épique, c’est lors de la deuxième que la bataille fut la plus intense. Dès le départ, Claudio fera le choix de prendre le large en première position, laissant Mathias en 2ème et Ranty en 3ème. C’était sans compter sur un block-pass très agressif de Ranty sur Mathias pour le dépasser. Après 3 tours et un écart qui se resserrera progressivement, Ranty finira par dépasser Claudio grâce à des trajectoires plus serrées et un freinage mieux géré, plus tard avec les virages. Le podium final : Ranty 1er et Claudio 2ème pour la fierté de la team Husqvarna Madagascar, et Mathias Plantive en 3ème.
A noter la 4è place de Marco, de retour aux courses après une longue absence et peu de roulage et victime de quelque souci d’embrayage pendant les deux manches. Pour le tenant du titre 2021, la dernière manche au MX’Park sera l’occasion de pouvoir s’amuser avec la tête d’un peloton de plus en plus aguerri.
Coté Junior, Andy8 sur TC 125 a encore une fois été admirable et a maitrisé la totalité de sa course. Trois TC 125 sur le podium : 1er Andy ANDRIANIRINA, 2ème RAZAFIMAHEFA Miaro occasionnellement sur TC 125 et 3ème Kentin SIKINA également sur TC 125. Quentin se sera laissé surprendre par Miaro qui se sera montré beaucoup plus confiant avec une meilleure maitrise du terrain et des trajectoires.
En cat. 2 Amateur, encore un full podium Husqvarna. On notera la témérité de David, qui laissera 10 secondes au départ à ses concurrents avant une remontada spectaculaire. Un signe qu’il est certainement temps d’évoluer vers la prochaine catégorie. En 1er, David RANAIVOSON, 2ème RAKOTOARISON Sandratra, 3ème ANDRIAMANANTSOA Liu-Lei, les 3 sur FC 250.
En catégorie 85cc garçon, le pilote Husqvarna leader et favori du Championnat Achille Guerrier étant absent, le podium final voit 1er Leung Yen Sincère, 2ème RAKOTOARIMANANA Jérémy, 3ème TSIRANANA Guillaume.
En catégorie 85cc Féminine, absente notre Oceanne , leader du Championnat avec sa TC 85, on retrouve Adriana CHAN en 1ère place et Steffy RANDRIAJAFY en 2ème place.
Chez les 65cc garçon, Rowan a encore fait des étincelles et confirme ses progrès. Il a d’abord remporté une première place lors de la première manche, mais il n’y parviendra pas à la deuxième, après une petite chute qui a par contre vu sa moto bloquée en dessous d’une autre moto. Plaçant ainsi le podium comme suit : 1er TIANIAINA Yohan, 2ème Rowan CROFT et 3ème LO TSY HENG Daniel.

En 65cc féminine, en 1ère place ANDRIAMADY Joann, en 2ème RAJAONARISENDRA MIAHY, en 3ème place RAMANANTSOA Louna. A remarquer que Miahy garde la tête du Championnat sur sa Husqvarna CR 65 de 2012.

En 50cc, LO TSY HENG Aymeric en 1er, LEUNG YEN Eros en 2ème et RAJAONARISENDRA Aro Nirindray en 3ème. Eros garde la tête du Championnat sur Husqvarna TC 50 Mini.
Mention spéciale pour tous les pilotes à leurs premières année de compétition et qui progressent très rapidement, et aussi à notre seul Vétéran au départ, Comandant @Rija Alberto Rakotomampianina sur sa moto d’enduro TE 250 !

Dans l'enceinte du colossal stade Barea Mahamasina à Antananarivo, l'euphorie était bien présente pour le lancement officiel de la compétition. Plusieurs dizaines de milliers de supporters avaient rempli les gradins pour assister à l'événement. La fanfare, l'orchestre, le défilé des athlètes ouvert par La Réunion, le show aérien de drones, les prestations des différents groupes de danse, les feux d'artifice, tout était grandiose.
