The first Communications, Media and Tourism Training Workshop in Africa (Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, 13-15 November) recognized the heightened relevance of tourism and the current opportunity to gain greater visibility outside of the sector itself. The 8th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo was held in Zimbabwe's capital Harare. The Tourism Expo, which is succeeded the Zimbabwe International Travel Expo (ZITE) dates back to 1982. Since its founding, this event has become one of Africa's leading tourism showcases, drawing major players from countries such as Botswana, South Africa, Italy, China, Namibia and Malawi.

The Great Zimbabwe Empire was one the great black empires to exist in ancient times. In this video, I visit the ancient ruins of this empire which consists of the King’s palace, the Queen’s palace, and smaller structures of royal family member’s houses. What amazed me about this site is that the most impressive building of this ancient city was the Queen’s palace. This was to show how honored she was in society. This is black history at its finest. This is one of many great African kingdoms that was never taught to us in school.
