In Nigeria, traditional attire holds significant cultural value, and two prominent examples are the Agbada and Wrapper/Gele.

The Agbada is a flowing robe worn by men and is often associated with wealth, status, and special occasions. It consists of a large, loose-fitting gown with wide sleeves, typically made from luxurious fabrics such as brocade or silk. The Agbada is usually worn over a matching pair of trousers and a shirt, and it is often complemented with a matching hat called a fila or a cap known as a fez.

The Wrapper, also known as a "wrapper skirt" or "iro," is a versatile piece of clothing primarily worn by Nigerian women. It is a rectangular piece of fabric wrapped around the waist and secured with a knot. The Wrapper is often made from colorful and patterned fabrics, and it can be styled in different ways depending on the region or cultural group. The Gele, on the other hand, refers to the intricately tied headgear that accompanies the Wrapper. The Gele is skillfully wrapped around the head, creating beautiful shapes and designs.

Both the Agbada and Wrapper/Gele are deeply rooted in Nigerian traditions and are commonly worn during special ceremonies, weddings, cultural events, and festive occasions. They serve as a visual representation of Nigerian heritage, cultural identity, and sartorial elegance, showcasing the country's diverse ethnic groups and their unique styles of dressing.
