Hi, I’m Kris Tripp. I’m a travel consultant with Preferred Travel of Naples. I’m talking about Africa, South Africa, Cape Town and Botswana today. I have wanted to go to Africa my entire life after seeing movies such as Born Free and Out of Africa. I was so enamored with the amount of wildlife, the beauty that I have wanted to go since I was a child.
As a life-long dream traveling to Africa, I was given the opportunity to go with Alexander & Roberts. They’re a small group tour operator that serves many destinations.
Our trip begins in Capetown, South Africa where I flew in and spent two to three nights. We toured the Cape of Good Hope and Boulders beach where there are penguin colonies and around the city of Capetown.
We were given the opportunity to go out to the Winelands, so we went to some of the wineland territories and it was beautiful. Stunning.
With the flights, the commercial services run from Johannesburg to Mahn and from there we were met by our private concession plane, which flew us from Mahn airport to the bordering of Jao concession, which is a private concession bordering the Chobe National Park along the Okavango Delta.
Kwetsani camp along the delta is described as tree house style accommodations. So, they’re set up over the flood plains because at certain times of the year in the winter as April is Fall, the water rise over the flood plains as it rushes south from Angola. We arrived late to Kwetsani in the afternoon and the couple that runs the reserve met us. They have been there for over 16 years and we had dinner. Then the following morning we took a six-passenger jeep through the flood plains looking at the different hooved animals, birds and wildlife.
In Kwetsani along the Okavango Delta, you can experience Impala, Red Lechwe, Coodos, all of your hooved animals, as well as many water birds, wattled crane and rusted rollers.
From Kwetsani camp, which is along the Okavango Delta, we moved over to Duma Tao. Duma Tao is part of the Chobe National Park. It’s a private concession bordering that. It is more bushland, so dryer at the source. We were able to see elephant, giraffe, warthog, wildebeest, water buffalo and cats sometimes. While we were staying at Duma Tao, we had an event that they usually put on once a week but they put on special for us while we were visiting. Essentially what happens is the entire camp prepares the food outside and you are under the stars, around the campfire while they put on their traditional dance and song of the region. It’s a buffet style dinner that’s put on for you.
So, once we left Chobe National Park, Duma Tao we went to the Livingstone National Park, which is in Zambia. That’s bordering Victoria Falls and stayed at Tuka Leya for two nights overlooking the mighty Zambezi River. Victoria falls was on our visit, it was on our list. It was pretty spectacular. The waters were rushing at that time. There were hippos and elephants swimming across the river.
Game drives were not only by little boats but were along the Zambezi River and by jeep. During a walking tour in the Livingstone National Park we were able to see the endangered White Rhino.
I can’t imagine anyone not wanting to see the beauty and the vast freedom and wildlife in Africa. I am an adventure traveler. I love wildlife, whether it be parks, animals, nature, stars and I think this is the best thing in life.
I can be reached at 239.261.1177 Preferred Travel’s office to arrange your adventure travel to Africa and many other destinations or you could also find information about us on our website, which is http://www.preferrednaples.com

Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today. On 14 October 2023, we start today's video with the rain in Blue Horizon Bay in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Blue Horizon Bay area has received 70 mm of rainfall since Thursday. Veld fires are still burning North of Dwaalboom with all the dry material in the veld. Then we moved on the Ganzekraal along the West Coast of South Africa. We then move over to Vaalwater with the new shoots from the trees after the rain from last week and also show more videos from around South Africa.

Weather forecast across South Africa today:
The coast between King Sabatha in the Eastern Cape and Mandeni in KwaZulu-Natal is under an orange level 6 warning for disruptive rain that will cause widespread flooding of roads and settlements and major disruption of traffic flow. The coast between Buffalo City Metro and Port Edwards is under a yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rain that will cause widespread flooding of informal settlements, roads, low-lying areas, and bridges and widespread disruption of municipal services. Throughout the western and central interior of Mpumalanga and Limpopo, as well as the eastern parts of Gauteng, north-eastern Free State, and most of KwaZulu-Natal, a yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for severe thunderstorms that may produce damaging winds, a large amount of small hail, and heavy downpours.

Welcome to our channel, SA Today! We will try and upload a video for you every day or the third day from somewhere around South Africa (SA) where we travel. We live in the platteland but try and see as much as we can of South Africa. Join us on a journey as we explore the beauty of South Africa through daily video captures. From breathtaking landscapes to vibrant cities, we showcase the diversity and charm of our country and a little bit of Namibia.

Subscribe and come along for the adventure!

We want to show our viewers as many places as we can across the country worth visiting. South Africa is a large country, and only some locals know where all these places are, we therefore add a map that we created to show where the video was captured more or less. We also try and provide some history on many of the towns, museums and events on that day in South Africa. We take pride in bringing original and captivating videos that will leave you in awe.

Also in this video, we show you the Richmond Corner in Cape Town, the beautiful flowers at Bokbaai, Rosy pitstop at Rayton, Wetnose where there are also rescued horses and we end the video today driving through Delmas in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.

Best known are the mammals, and the best known of these are the famous Big Five: elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Not that giraffe, hippo or whale are small ...
South Africa's bushveld and savannah regions are still home to large numbers of the mammals universally associated with Africa.
The Kruger National Park alone has well over 10 000 elephants and 20 000 buffaloes – in 1920 there were an estimated 120 elephants left in the whole of South Africa.
The white rhino has also been brought back from the brink of extinction and now flourishes both in the Kruger National Park and the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal. Attention now is on protecting the black rhino.
Both these parks are home to all of the Big Five, as are other major reserves in South Africa – such as Pilanesberg in North West province – and numerous smaller reserves and private game lodges.
