In the world of Olympics, Kenya is a name that remains on the top list in the world. It is just fascinating, how relentless this people are in long races and how fast they are in the shorter courses. what's the secret to this super human ability? Can the rest of the world implement the same method? lets dive right in.
Eliud Kipchoge. This has become a household name especially in the recent past. He is the worlds greatest marathon runner. we are talking about a man who has ran a whole 42 KMs in an average speed of 21km/h. calling this impressive is just an understatement as it is the outright meaning of an outstanding performance. The question that lingers in your mind is what his secret is. Now, let's list two more example then see what’s common about them and approve whether their secret is true.

Ferdinand omanyala is currently the fastest man in Africa. he is a product of Kenya, and is on the road to breaking all the set records. he hit 9.76 seconds at the 100 metres to be named Africa’s fastest man. one of the most incredible things beyond his track speed is the pace at which he rose to the top: talk about from grass to grace in a flinch of an eye.
the last legend we look at before comparing them is non other but David rudisha. I call him a legend because of his amazing performances while on the tracks. He broke the world record for men's 800 metre and still holds the record to date. what’s so unique about the guys we have talked about? however, it is important to note that the kenyan legendary athletes are not limited to the three. Just to mention other few names: Ezekiel kemboi, kipchoge keino, samwel wanjiru and vivian cheruiyot .
now, lets put an answer to the big question.
We would like to hear your opinion as to why Kenyans are such great athletes.
Why do kenyan athlete's show an impressive performance in the Olympics world?
One thing you'll notice, if you asked a Kenyan is that, most of these amazing athletes are clustered in the rift valley region. the lower part of this region in the kenyan geography has quite a high altitude that rises as high as 1830m above sea level. The oxygen level as we know decreases as you climb higher in terms of altitude. What's so special about this?
frequent exercises in high altitude areas increases the red blood cells count which could stay in the body for up to 20 days. you know what that means? it means that the body is able to carry more oxygen, which is the fuel that the body needs for such tremendous occasions.

second, Kenyans tend to begin the race before others in the world. what? now here's what i mean. Kenyans especially those interested in the athletic field tend to start their training at quite a young age. They do this almost on a daily basis and directly from Bruce lee, the man to fear is the man who has practiced 1 kick 10000 times. Now, by the time these children are at the age of proper competitions, their bodies have adapted and optimized and so, when the real game begins, it's a walk in the park for them.

Thank you. now, the last reason on our list as to Kenya’s outstanding performance is more biological than physical. Genetic predisposition or what we would call gradual evolution. Kenyan athletes tend to have a body adapted to running in that, they have long and lean limbs which is quite outstanding. in addition, some studies have showed that kenyans have more slow twitch muscle fibers which are better suited for endurance activities . you’d be surprised to know that Eliud Kipchoge weighs a mere 56 Kgs.

in conclusion, there are more reasons to why kenyans show a good performance which we might look at in another video but the ones we listed today are some of the main ones.
