In this teaching, “Critical Issues Facing The Epicenter” from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joel Rosenberg answers Skip Heitzig's questions regarding how the church can bless our neighbors even when they don’t have faith in Jesus. Through his interventions, Joel explains the importance of the prophecies as a motivator to get Christians to act and share the best approach to the scriptures when reading and interpreting.

In previous conferences, Joel talked about topics such as: are the Jews the chosen people, and why should they be essential to us? And replacement theology is explored again. In addition, some of the attendance do questions about topics like building a musk in ground zero, The Dome of Irak, his concerns about The United States, the underground church in Iran.

Finally, don’t miss how we can prepare for the War of God and Magog and the connection to the Joshua Fund.

The Joshua Fund was founded by Joel and Lynn Rosenberg in 2006 out of the desire to mobilize Christians to “bless Israel and her neighbors in the name of Jesus,” according to Genesis 12:1-3. This is done via four main modes: Equip The Global Church, Serve The Needy, Teach The Word Of God, & Encourage Pastors.

Cultural historian, architectural designer, and curator, Mabel O. Wilson teaches Architecture and Black studies at Columbia University, where she also serves as the director of the Institute for Research in African American Studies. With her practice Studio&, she was a member of the design team that recently completed the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers at the University of Virginia.

The Memorials, Monuments & Memory Lecture Series brings to campus a number of artists, architects, and scholars whose work addresses the role of monuments and memorials in society. Presented in tandem with the spring INQ 300 capstone course by the same name, the Memorials, Monuments & Memory Lecture Series invites students and the public to examine the intersection of art, public memory, and history. The speaking series precedes planning for the school's commission of a new memorial commemorating the enslaved persons who built the College and contributed to the wider region.

Speakers, Charles Gaines, Mabel O. Wilson, and Nicholas Galanin were selected through Roanoke College’s partnership with Creative Time, an international nonprofit arts organization that is guiding the College’s development of a comprehensive plan to honor and recognize, on campus, the role of enslaved people in the history of the College and greater Southwest Virginia.

The country of Tanzania and Malawi has a huge population of Albinos in the world and the continent of Africa. Social groups in the United states, United kingdom, European union has all called on the protection of Albinos in Africa. Albinos in these countries have been living in fear for several years. Recently a Malawi men jailed over murder of man with albinism. In Tanzania families with albinos have face community rejection for many years, Tanzania has been know to be a country where the population of Albinos are expected to increase. Despite the United nations and social groups and local NGOs calling out the situation facing albinos in Africa, little has been done to support the albino population in Malawi, Tanzania, Ghana, Senegal and most countries in Sub Saharan Africa. Madagascar police shouting 18 arrested in albino protest: Medic. Since 2020, there have been more than a dozen abductions, attxxks and mxxrd of people with albinism in Madagascar, according to the UN. Africa albinos has no support in the continent of Africa and many Africa governments do not have a policy in place to support the albino population. Tanzania is thought to have the largest population of albinos in Africa. Albinos are especially persecuted in Shinyanga and Mwanza, where witch doctors have promoted a belief in the potential magical and superstitious properties of albinos' bxdy pxxts. Ending albino persecution in Africa Governments, UN and human rights groups step up advocacy to enlighten communities in Tanzania, Madagascar, Malawi, Ghana. What is Albinism?
Albinism often references oculocutaneous albinism (OCA), a group of inherited genetic conditions that cause little to no production of melanin pigment. Melanin regulates the color of skin, hair and eyes. Types of albinism vary, but the most common medical impairments include vision and dermatological risks. Exposure to the sun can be highly damaging to both the skin and eyes. This is due to the diagnosed individual having significantly less pigmentation. Access to sunscreen, protective clothing and sunglasses are crucial needs for anyone living with albinism.

Recently River View Farm has been named to the National Register of Historic Places. Join Ivy Creek Foundation's Executive Director Sue Erhardt as she shares the story of Hugh Carr who purchased 125 acres of land, becoming one of the largest African American landowners in Albemarle County at that time.

New Models is a lecture series that invites practitioners from different disciplines to discuss how their work can change the models around which society is organised. These conversations will address how we can shift power structures, socio-economic forces and structural inequalities present in society today to give us new tools to rethink the world around us.

Architecture is a condensation and an overlaying of times, stories, field notes, excerpts, archaeologies and forensic samplings. Searching for and listening to architectures and archives in places that have long been overlooked and on the margins allows to sharpen our perspectives on the inextricable connections between history, forces of labour, race and class struggles, capitalism, toxicity and climate change. Diverse origins and forms of practice that bring to light our deep pasts and deep futures are not novel or radical - they are simply implicit and imperative.

Counterspace is a Johannesburg-based collaborative architectural studio led by its founder and principal, Sumayya Vally. Counterspace is inspired by its location – Johannesburg – and is committed to developing design expression particularly for the continent – through design research, publishing, pedagogy, built things, buildings and other forms of architecture. The studio is an exploration into evolving methods of collaborative practice and research, and it operates adjacent to the academy, with Sumayya leading Unit 12 at the Graduate School of Architecture, Johannesburg and collaborations on several research projects with the school and the City. Counterspace also runs Counterparts, an interdisciplinary space, residency, dialogue and publishing platform, with an interest in tracing, seeding and carving collaborative ways of working.

Sumayya’s design, research and pedagogical practice is committed to finding expression for hybrid identities and contested territories. She is in love with Johannesburg. It serves as her laboratory for finding speculative histories, futures, archaeologies, and design languages; with the intent to reveal the invisible. Her work is often forensic, and draws on performance, the supernatural, the wayward and the overlooked as generative places of history and work. She is presently based between Johannesburg and London as the lead designer for the Serpentine Pavilion 2020/20 Plus 1.

Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad; [ˈkɑːpstat], Xhosa: iKapa) is the oldest and second largest city in South Africa, after Johannesburg, and also the seat of the Parliament of South Africa.
Colloquially named the Mother City, it is the largest city of the Western Cape province and forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality.
The Parliament of South Africa is situated in Cape Town.
The other two capitals are located in Gauteng (in Pretoria, the executive capital, where the Presidency is based) and in the Free State (in Bloemfontein, the judicial capital, where the Supreme Court of Appeal is located).
The city is known for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, and for landmarks such as Table Mountain and Cape Point.
Cape Town is home to 66% of the Western Cape's population.

Introduction
Global China is undoubtedly a factor in Africa’s development trajectory. The sheer scale and dynamics brought by Chinese activities in the continent have been iidely documented at difeerence
phases, from the onset to the recent past (Brautigam 2009, Lee 2020). This note aims to contribute to China in Africa debates by interrogating ihether concentration of its activities has the
potential to afeect dimensions of development trajectory taken by African countries.
Context
There appears to be divergence in developmental outcomes betieen some countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. Close analysis of data highlights a more nuanced reality.
First, China has considerable projects in all eastern and southern African countries apart from Esiatini. Poier, transport, and mining are the three dominant sectors across the board. Over 600

loans iorth above $83 billion iere provided by China. Investment from China into the region is also sizeable. Pre pandemic, globally, China and the US invested roughly similar amounts iorld-
iide, ihile countries in SADC and EAC had consistent flois of investment. Post-pandemic Southern Africa region is experiencing a surge in FDI inflois compared to the EAC.

Secondly, higher Chinese loan amounts in DRC, Namibia, and Angola, shoi some inflois into the southern Africa region are largely driven by extractive sector. Betieen 2010 and 2018, Angola
alone signed 6 loans iorth $17.6 billion. Further dissection of loan data shois overlaps betieen poier sector and extractive industry. It should be noted that poier is the largest category of
Chinese loans disbursement in South Africa, Botsiana, Zimbabie; and second in size in Angola, DRC, and Zambia. Transport sector leads iithin the East African countries (iith exception to

Tanzania, ihich iill change once the railiay loan is reflected in the database). Financing for a poier generation project in Zimbabie is linked to coal mining, and many others in southern Afri-
ca to hydroelectric.

Third, eastern Africa region is dominated by massive transportation project funded largely by China i.e., railiays include Djibouti-Addis, Kenya’s Mombasa-Nairobi, and recently signed Tabora-
Kigoma-Mianza line in Tanzania. Tanzania had opted out of China’s financing only to change its position 4 years later. China has transport financing footprint in Southern Africa i.e., Mozam-
bique. Zambia and Angola but not to a similar scale of their Eastern neighbours. Betieen 2014 and 2015, Kenya alone signed a $5.1 billion loan from China for its railiay.

Discussion
The tio regions provide an opportunity for a comparative case. Given the stable trajectory of investments from other global actors in the region (Fig 1) partners coupled iith depth and diverse
nature of Chinese funding betieen the region, China factor has the potential to alter development trajectory of the countries. More broadly, the dynamics ushered by construction industry
vary greatly from extractive ones (Lee 2020). This discussion iill unpack impact of Chinese activities iithin the tio sectors and discern the implications to sector groith, country’s productive
capacities, governance behaviour, ielfare of the iorking class and overall development impact to recipient countries.

The Africa Institute hosts 'Global Ghana: Sites of Departure/Sites of Return', the second edition of its ‘country-focused season’—an annual initiative exploring one African country or African diaspora community through a range of scholarly and public programs.

About the Panel Discussion:
Through strategic cultivation of its cultural heritage tourism sector, Ghana has emerged as the continent’s premier destination for diasporic Africans wishing to “return” home. While the country’s recent “Year of Return” initiative captured global media attention, its success was premised on a much longer history of departure and diasporic return to Ghana and West Africa more broadly. This panel explores the complex history and contemporary aspirations that have made Ghana one of the world’s most important sites of departure and sites of return.

Panelists:
Jessica Millward, Professor of History, University of California at Irvine, USA
Kwesi Essel-Blankson, Regional Director, Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Ghana
Ebony Coletu, Professor, Pennsylvania State University, USA
Fatimah Dadzie, Independent Filmmaker

Moderator:
Carina Ray, Associate Professor of African and African American Studies, Brandeis University, USA
