For Bassunga and his men, the road to wood can be strewn with pitfalls. Every day, he takes to the forest in his old truck with his comrades. For simple travellers, the roads of Mozambique quickly become hell. In front of his minibus, Johnny is desperately waiting for the client. The torrential rains of the night do not encourage him to leave but he has no choice, the truck must be filled otherwise the day will be lost for Johnny. Between the impassable ruts and the traps set by the inhabitants, the 100 kilometers of track will take on the appearance of an odyssey.

Within the framework of ACTION/Portugal, ILO-Maputo produced a documentary film titled "On Your Own" about the extension of social protection coverage to workers in the informal economy in Mozambique. The documentary was presented during the Social Protection Week and it was considered a useful advocacy tool to raise awareness about the importance of increasing the coverage levels of these workers.

This roadtrip started in Johannesburg on the way to Mozambique : 4 guys, one car full of kitegear, all onboard in a journey like no other.
During 3 weeks we wondered along the Mozambican coast, looking for flat water, dune for some soaring and perfect surf conditions.
Nothing was planned, we were just driven by the wind and the waves.
A new generation adventure as we can call it but always true to his definition.

Heidi Baker, co-founder of Iris Global, has been living in Mozambique, Africa for over twenty-five years. Since 2017 her home province has been overcome by war. When Heidi’s friends and family shared their concerns for her safety, asking her to consider leaving, Heidi’s response has always been, ”Why should I leave behind the ones I’ve raised and disciplined; those I love? They can’t leave, so why should I?”

Filmed by two missionaries, James and Jessica Brewer, NIFENTO is a film that showcases the grim reality of war and terrorism in northern Mozambique. It features stories from families who are experiencing it firsthand and the response of Iris Global who is working hand in hand with the local church.

Striving to be the hands and feet of Jesus in one of the poorest nations in the world, Heidi and her team have faced cyclones, floods, famines, extreme poverty, and now terrorism.
The conflict has ravaged the region resulting in over 800,000 people fleeing from their homes and becoming internally displaced.
