Rabies is a very common problem in The Gambia.
This dog lived with his people for 8 years, was never vaccinated. Suddenly it became vicious, attacked and seriously fought with his buddy at the compound. The dog bit 4 people before it arrived at the clinic.
He received an i.m. sedation before I asked the owner to remove the bag.
I put him down finally and did a Rabies-test on a brain sample: Rabies positive... not good at all.

Day 13 in Africa! our favourite place and day so far - Gambia Bakau! Thanks to our friend Lamin we had an amazing tour around the must see places and learned a little bit about the traditions and history. It was very informative and casual. Loved it.

First time in our lives we touched alive crocodile, feeling was really impressive and a bit scary too!

Fully recommend to get in touch with Lamin on whatsapp (+220 702 44 69 if need a tour around Bakau or nearby in Gambia, even getting picked up at Airport,Hotel Reservations etc.

It was an impressive start to day 13 in Kachikally crocodile pool , and soon a new episode as we are heading to 🙈 PARK!

First and foremost, The Gambia is a land of smiles and warmth. The Gambian people have welcomed me with open arms, and their hospitality is second to none. Whether it's sharing stories over a cup of "ataya" (traditional Gambian tea) or dancing to the rhythm of the djembe drums, every day in The Gambia is a celebration of life.

The Gambia boasts some of the most breathtaking natural beauty I've ever seen. The meandering Gambia River, flanked by lush mangroves and teeming with wildlife, is a sight to behold. The vibrant colors of the bustling markets, the picturesque villages, and the golden beaches along the Atlantic Ocean are simply mesmerizing.
