The republic of Malawi is a landlocked country that is located in southeastern Africa. It is bordered by Tanzania to the north and northeast, Zambia to the west, and Mozambique to the south, east, and southwest. The country is so beautiful as it offers diverse landscape to tourists and various sights to see. As at 2018, Malawi has more than 18 million citizens, and spans over 45,474 sq mi.
On the 6th of July, 1964, the country gained independence from the UK, and two years later, she became a republic. Before independence, Malawi was known as Nyasaland. Makawi’s change of name came from Maravi which is the name of the Chewa people living in the area.  The nation has just been named as the poorest country in the world, judging from her per capita income. The third of Malawi is taken over by Lake Malawi which is also known as Lake Nyasa. The capital of the country is known as Lilongwe and it is the largest city in Malawi.

1. Tea production
The first country in Africa to ever grow tea for commercial purpose is Malawi. The country is the second biggest producer of tea, coming just after Kenya. Tea production in Malawi has been going on for more than a century. The history of tea traceable to when seeds were derived from the botanical garden in Edinburg and then planted in Blantyre at the church of Scotland Mission back in 1866. Even as of today, the original tea plantation ancestor that is in Mulanje still grows seeds at Blantyre. Malawi's tea is known everywhere on the planet and many of the tea brands in the world use of her tea leaves.

2. UNESCO world heritage sites
Republic of Malawi has two different sites that are on the list of UNESCO World heritage. In 1984, the Lake Malawi national park became a UNESCO World heritage site. The park has more than a hundred species of cichlid, and provides one of the best freshwater in Africa and also the world at large. Another Malawi’s site that is on the World Heritage List is the Chongini Rock Art. The Chongini has 127 sites featuring as Central Africa’s richest concentration of rock art.

3. Neighboring countries
Malawi is a south eastern Africa countries that is bordered and surrounded by three other countries. The country has border with Zambia to the west, Tanzanian to the north and northeast and then Mozambique to the east, south, and southwest. These neighboring countries make Malawi an African Hub as tourists most times go to explore these surrounding countries while in Malawi. It provides some sort of sightseeing to visitors.
