In the ongoing legal battle surrounding Nigeria's 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has submitted additional documents to the Supreme Court. These documents accuse President Bola Tinubu of forgery and perjury, seeking his disqualification and removal from office.
The evidence presented by Atiku consists of academic records belonging to Tinubu, which were recently released by the Chicago State University (CSU) in the United States. The release of these records was ordered by an Illinois court, responding to Atiku's request for documents to support his claim that Tinubu forged a certificate from CSU in 1979, which he submitted to Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2023 presidential election.
