The island nation of Comoros voted at the weekend. It was a tense three-way presidential run-off. Vice President Mohamed Ali Soilihi and former coup leader Colonel Azali Assoumani are seen as the favourites. Vote counting is under way now following the Sunday election. In the first round of voting the Vice President won nearly 18 percent of the votes. Colonal Assoumani took 15 percent. 19 of the 25 candidates who contested the first round of voting rejected the results. They've been demanding a recount. But the country's constitutional court upheld the first round results. Comoros has three main islands. According to electoral rules, the president needs to be picked on a rotational basis from them. This time it's Grande Comore's turn.
