The government in the Central African country of Gabon shut down access to the internet and announced a night-time curfew as polls closed in presidential and parliamentary elections.
It said the move was necessary to prevent violence. But the opposition accused incumbent President Ali Bongo Ondimba of deliberately creating chaos in the polls.
