International community reacts to Gabon coup with mixture of condemnation and concern
The international community has responded with a mixture of condemnation and calls for stability following a military takeover in the west African country of Gabon. France and the UN condemned the coup, while Russia, China and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell expressed concern about the risk of instability spreading into Gabon following a string of coups across the Sahel region, most recently in Niger.
