Liberia gears up for high-stakes elections as President Weah seeks re-election

Stakes are high in Liberia as the West African nation prepares for elections. Incumbent President George Weah is seeking another term. Liberians will vote in presidential and parliamentary elections next Tuesday. Between 1989 and 2003, the conflicts in the West African nation left more than 250 000 people dead.
