Military personnel in Malawi have begun helping communities recover bodies of victims of Cyclone Freddy, soon after government appealed for global support to tackle what President Lazarus Chakwera described as a ‘national tragedy’ that has taken the lives of over 225 people with a death toll that is still increasing.

William Namboya, an officer with the Malawi Defense Force was in Blantyre where he detailed how many bodies have been recovered so far from the mudslides caused by the tropical cyclone.
