Mozambique President calls on SADC to address terrorist threat in Cabo Delgado

Mozambique's President has called for the SADC-led response to the terrorist threat in the Cabo Delgado province, to become a model in the global fight against violent extremism. President Filipe Nyusi has chaired a high-level debate at the UN Security Council on countering terrorism and violent extremism by strengthening cooperation between the UN and regional organisations and mechanisms. Nyusi presented the regional response to the terrorist threat in Mozambique as evidence that African solutions to African problems are an effective principle.
